Your RCD is designed to trip, or switch off all the power to a circuit to protect the user from a potential electric shock. They are important!

To ensure the RCD is functioning correctly it must be tested on a regular basis. RCD or safety switch testing is the process of using special test equipment to safely test the RCD device against the Australian and New Zealand standards to ensure it will operate as designed. The quicker a RCD trips, the smaller the electric shock sustained by an individual.

Appliance testing or testing and tagging is the test and inspection of electrical equipment and leads to ensure they are maintained in safe and compliant condition in accordance with Australian/ New Zealand Standards 3760 and Occupational Health & Safety Regulation.

Appliances and electrical leads are tested using a PAT machine, then tagged to show the outcome of the test.

A report of the results are provided to our clients for their WHS requirements. Faulty electrical devices in the workplace represent a huge risk to anyone who comes into contact with them.
