After having so much fun himself at Little Athletics when he was growing up QMS Electrical Director Jason Brooks wanted to give something back.

He said he remembers as a child his whole family was part of the local Little Athletics.

“I remember how much fun we had there every week.”

Little Athletics at Deception Bay is no different.

The centre provides friendly competitions on Friday evenings and encourages children aged from five years to 16 to participate.

They can learn the basic athletic skills of running, jumping and throwing and improve their own personal performances.

Little Athletics is a fitness activity which consists of simple warm up exercises preceding each meet, coaching sessions, and participation in the actual running, jumping and throwing events. All little athletic activities are designed to help improve your child’s fitness and well-being.

Jason agrees with the great activities that are had at the centre, so much that he has become a sponsor of the club.

The QMS Electrical team supplied and installed data network for the POS system and have replaced all the faulty power and light fittings.

This has helped keep the athletics community strong.

“Having a young family community means people with common interests’, whatever interest that may be, can come together and enjoy,” Jason said.

“Being so busy with work I love been able to sit down on the weekend and watch my girls playing their chosen sports.”

Jason encourages people who are thinking about it to sign their kids up, leave the iPad at home and just see how much enjoyment the kids get from it.
