RCD Testing
Your RCD is designed to trip, or switch off all the power to a circuit to protect the user from a potential electric shock. They are important!

To ensure the RCD is functioning correctly it must be tested on a regular basis. RCD or safety switch testing is the process of using special test equipment to safely test the RCD device against the Australian and New Zealand standards to ensure it will operate as designed. The quicker a RCD trips, the smaller the electric shock sustained by an individual.

Appliance testing or Testing & Tagging
Appliance testing or Testing & Tagging is the test and inspection of electrical equipment and leads to ensure they are maintained in safe and compliant condition in accordance with Australian/ New Zealand Standards 3760 and Occupational Health & Safety Regulation.

Appliances and electrical leads are tested using a PAT machine, then tagged to show the outcome of the test.

A report of the results are provided to our clients for their WHS requirements. Faulty electrical devices in the workplace represent a huge risk to anyone who comes into contact with them.

Testing and Tagging provides peace of mind and ensures you are meeting your duty of care to provide a safe work environment.

Appliance Repairs and Installation
We know how much appliance breakdowns can affect businesses ability to service your customers.

QMS Electrical’s fully qualified technicians can install your new appliances or repair your faulty ones.

Air Conditioning Installations and Maintenance

Computer, Data and Telephone Networks- (Structured Cabling)

Emergency and Exit Lighting Testing
Emergency and exit lights are installed within a building so that in the event of a power failure, occupants are clearly directed to exits in hallways, passage ways, stairwells, lobby areas and alike.

These lights must be automatically connected to work in the event of a power failure for the duration of 90 minutes on, above or adjacent to every door providing an escape.

Our technicians test the emergency and exit lighting system in accordance with Australian/New Zealand Standard 2293.2.1995 and the results of this test are presented to our clients in a report ensuring you are meeting your obligations under these requirements.

Thermal Imaging
Within electrical switchboards, the main cause of fire and faults are undetected hot spots.

These are caused by loose or overtightened connections, overloaded or failing components and uneven voltage distribution.

Our technicians use special Thermal imaging cameras to detect and fix these hotspots before they become an electrical failure or fire.

This early detection and repair is key to saving your company time and money by minimising disruptions and potential downtime.

Room and Office Refurbishments and Fitouts – LED Lighting and Smart Lighting Upgrades
Energy efficient lighting and CBUS/smart lighting control design, supply & installation. The light-emitting diode (LED) technology has completely revolutionized the lighting market.

LED lighting can deliver a 50-70% energy saving when compared to traditional halogen, incandescent and fluorescent options.

They also contain no mercury or other harmful chemicals and have a much longer lifespan than traditional lights.

Our LED lights typically come with a 3-5year manufacturer’s warranty.

LEDs can also be controlled or programmed more easily. Wireless, daylight and occupancy sensors, programmable dimming and manual dimming these controls and systems can add to even greater energy saving and simplified lighting control.

We have stringent processes that help us to maintain our safety onsite and on the road.

Before we attend the site we complete mandatory inductions as required.

Prior to starting work, we complete a job safety analysis and make sure we have the relevant reviewed SWMS in place so our staff complete all jobs in a safe and compliant manner.

Our team are trained in the safe practices around electrical systems and only experienced and qualified staff (or supervised apprentices) are allowed on-site as part of our team.

At QMS we have tight management procedures in place. To systemise our processes, keep jobs and invoices well managed we use a system called SimPRO. This keeps all our data in one location and ensures the correct paperwork is completed for each and every job.

We aim to reuse as much of the materials we buy so we have very little waste. We actively partner with companies who promote and use recyclable packaging. Our waste is separated with the goal of recycling as much as possible.

The solar system installed on our office premises offsets 100% of our power usage during the sunny days and we are always on the lookout for new and innovative products to minimise our carbon footprint.
